FAQs

Questions about knee problems

Do I need a GP referral?

Most insurers ask for a GP referral before they authorise a consultation, so check with yours first. If you are paying for yourself you can usually book directly — the hospital will confirm anything it needs.

No. Many people improve with exercise, physiotherapy, weight management or injections. Mr Reddy recommends surgery only when it is likely to help more than these treatments.

Use the Book an appointment button. It opens Lancaster Private Hospital’s booking page with Mr Reddy already selected, so you can choose one of his clinic times.

Most major UK insurers cover consultations and surgery with a recognised consultant. Call your insurer before booking to check your policy and get an authorisation code.

Ready to talk about your hip or knee?

Appointments are booked directly with Lancaster Private Hospital using Mr Reddy's own clinic times. If you are insured, ask your insurer for an authorisation code first. Self-funding patients are welcome.
