FAQs
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions patients ask most about booking, fees, surgery and recovery.
Booking
How do I book an appointment?
Use the Book an appointment button. It opens Lancaster Private Hospital’s booking page with Mr Reddy already selected, so you can choose one of his clinic times.
Do I need a GP referral?
Most insurers ask for a GP referral before they authorise a consultation, so check with yours first. If you are paying for yourself you can usually book directly — the hospital will confirm anything it needs.
Can I see Mr Reddy on the NHS?
Answer to follow: awaiting client copy.
Insurance & fees
Will my insurance cover my treatment?
Most major UK insurers cover consultations and surgery with a recognised consultant. Call your insurer before booking to check your policy and get an authorisation code.
What does a consultation cost if I pay myself?
Answer to follow: awaiting client copy.
Can I get a fixed price for surgery?
Answer to follow: awaiting client copy.
Surgery & recovery
Is surgery always necessary?
No. Many people improve with exercise, physiotherapy, weight management or injections. Mr Reddy recommends surgery only when it is likely to help more than these treatments.
How long does recovery take after a knee replacement?
Answer to follow: awaiting client copy.
When can I drive after a hip or knee replacement?
Answer to follow: awaiting client copy.
